Attorneys
After more than a decade in the legal system, Matthew Averill is a skilled and seasoned attorney. His commitment to public service is evident through his role as a Special Assistant to the Mayor of New Orleans, where he contributed to community engagement and legislative initiatives. Matthew graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Tulane University Law School. His dedication to the community and his clients serves as a cornerstone of Averill & Reaney’s esteemed reputation.
Brian Reaney applies extensive experience in complex litigation to successfully manage property insurance claims and personal injury cases. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, graduating magna cum laude, with a focus in civil law. Brian's commitment to excellence and advocacy makes him a trusted legal advisor in Covington, Louisiana, and beyond.
John Mahoney focuses on first-party insurance litigation, representing homeowners seeking recovery after a loss. He has defended insurance companies in property, liability, and construction cases and previously worked as a legal aid attorney in property, family, and civil law. John also served as a child welfare attorney and a public defender. Admitted in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Alabama, he holds a law degree from Ave Maria School of Law and a business degree from Penn State.
Demi Dantin is an associate attorney in the Louisiana office, representing clients in personal injury and property damage cases. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Louisiana State University and earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. Admitted to the Louisiana Bar, Demi is qualified to practice in all state and federal district courts across Louisiana and is a member of both the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Parish Bar Association.
